People's artist Tahir Tahirov died
Tahir Tahirov, the prominent representative of Azerbaijan Art School, People's Artist and a personal pensioner of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, died.
The Press Service of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan informs that Tahir Tahirov was a unique artist who worked indefatigably for development of our fine arts, expressing the rich traditions of our national arts in his long-term creative activity.
Tahir Tahirov was born on 1948, in Baku. He finished the faculty of Artistry of Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts in 1973. He also achieved a great fame as an ingenious stage managing artist of so many spectacles. He set an arrangement for the opera spectacles such as G.Verdi´s “La Traviata”, G. Rossini´s “the Barber of Seville”, R. Leoncavollo´s “Pagliacci”, F.Amirov´s “Sevil”, ballet spectacles such as P.Tchaikovsky´s “Romeo and Juliet”, G.Garayev´s “Don Quixote”, “Leyli and Majnun”, T.Bakikhanov´s “Khazar ballad”, and other spectacles, for example, A.N. Ostrovsky´s “The wise men”, Ilyas Afandiyev´s “In the crystal palace”, J. Jabbarli´s “the Fire Bride” and “Aydin”, S.Vurgun´s “Farhad and Shirin”, N.Hasanzada´s “Pompey´s march to the Caucasus”, H.Orujov´s “The people of this world”, B.Vahabzada´s “Unpunished sin”, Elchin´s “Daydream at post-office”, H.Hasanov´s “Letters from Brussels”, and etc., as well as so many state importance events, anniversary ceremonies. Sketches of stage costumes, created by the artist with great skill for famous opera and ballet spectacles, also became famous for the fine arts of Azerbaijan and became an expression of endless love for his native country as an artist.
Tahir Tahirov’s creative works have served to promote our national culture as a valuable example of Azerbaijani fine arts. His activities had always been in the focus of the Government of Azerbaijan. Awarding the Honorary Artist in 2002 and the People’s artist in 2013 is the best example of this.
Tahir Tahirov was also a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In this regard, The Board of the Union expresses its sorrow for the death of People’s Artist, Tahir Tahirov and wishes patience for his family and friends.
