The event dedicated to birthday of eminent film-maker, People’s Artist, Laureate of State Prize of Azerbaijan, President of “Space” TV Vagif Mustafayev, was held in Nizami Cinema Center on August 28.
Press service of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan Republic informs that officials of state and government, Deputies of Milli Majlis (National Assembly), diplomatic representative of foreign countries, figures of culture and art and well-known intellectuals participated in the event.
People’s Artist Shafiga Mammadova who opened the event with welcoming remarks, told about life, many-field activity and creative successes of the film-maker. She noted that Vagif Mustafayev is a film-maker who has brought new and different style to Azerbaijan cinema art. She informed that nowadays Vagif Mustafayev, who was well-known in Azerbaijan cinema, was awarded with “Order of Honor” according to the Order of President Ilham Aliyev.
Then, fragment of “Bayin ogurlanmasi” film by the film-maker was presented. The remark -“Cinema is such a case that is very hard; both hard and important” sounded in the film, shows that producing of a film is very difficult and honorable. During the event, the fragments dealing with work process of the film-maker and behind-the-scene moments of television works made by him till now, were displayed. These fragments show the greatness of the profession of Vagif Mustafayev one more time.
Famous Georgian actor Avtandil Makharadze who played roles in the films of the film-maker, made a speech in the event and informed that Vagif Mustafayev is eminent and lovely film-maker not only of Azerbaijan, but also of the region. In George there is not such a person that does not watch his films.
Well-known Georgian film-maker Teymuraz Babluani who made a speech in the event, spoke detailed about invaluable services of Vagif Mustafayev in cinematography area.
Ambassador of Turkey in Azerbaijan Erkan Özoral congratulated the film-maker and said: “Responsibility and success of film are related to a film-maker. Although actors and actresses play roles in film, it is related to name of a film-maker. Vagif Mustafayev saw the most difficult history of Azerbaijan and made good television works. I believe that hereinafter the film-maker will make nice films courageously and artistically as before.
The first vise-president of SOCAR, Academician Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh emphasized that the films made by Vagif Mustafayev were welcomed with great empathy. “I know Mr Vagif long ago. There is a film 4-series “The history of oil in Azerbaijan” dedicated to Azerbaijan oilers in 2010 among his documentary films, as well. I also participated in an episode of that film. In this film I saw that producing of a film is very difficult profession”.
Minister of Culture Abulfas Garayev noted that life and activities of Vagif Mustafayev are important in the culture of Azerbaijan, and Vagif Mustafayev can manage to present most characters belonging to Azerbaijan to audience with humor in his television works. The Minister speaking about his documentary films, especially emphasized the film-maker’s films about national leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev
Then, Minister of Culture Abulfas Garayev submitted him the “Order of Honor” awarded with the Order dated August 1, 2018 of President Ilham Aliyev.
In the end the film-maker thanked the participants of the event and spoke about behind-the-scenes moments and interesting occurrences of his films made till now. Vagif Mustafayev emphasized that his activities in this area are always estimated by our government and thanked President Ilham Aliyev for “Order of Honor” submitted to him.
