Today is the birthday of the honored artist Mehriban Afandiyeva
According to the press service of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Afandiyeva was born on May 5, 1968 in Baku. In 1984-88, she studied at Azerbaijan State Technical School of Art named after A.Azimzada. She later graduated from the animation school “Soyuzmultfilm” in Moscow. In 2004, she became a participant of the US State Department`s International Guest Program to improve her qualifications with the support of the USA and the Ministry of Culture.
Mehriban Afandiyeva worked as an animation artist, costume artist, leading specialist in the department of shooting preparation at the “Azerbaijanfilm” studio named after J. Jabbarli at different times. She has currently been working as a costume artist in the Department of Artistic Production at the “Azerbaijanfilm” studio.
Mehriban Afandiyeva is a member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, Union of Designers of Azerbaijan. Her works were demonstrated in many exhibitions.
She worked in a number of films - “Girmizi gatar” (1993), “Gara ney” (1994), “Ozge vakht “(1996), “Otel otaghı” (1998), “Haji Gara” (2002), “Mekanin melodiyasi” (2004), “Gizlar” (2007), “Mehkumlar” (2007), “Absurdistan” (2008), “Gaydasiz doyush” (2009), “Ailemiz” (2013) and others as an artist and costume artist.
Mehriban Afandiyeva was awarded the “Honored Artist” for her contributions to the development of Azerbaijani cinema in 2016.
