Winners of Cannes Film Festival were announced

Winners of the 71st Cannes Film Festival were awarded.

 

 

According to the press service of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Palme d'Or ("Golden Palm") was given to the Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda, the author of the film “Shoplifters”. 

 

Gran Prix award of the festival was given to Spike Lee for the film “Black Klansman”, and special award of jury was given to Nadine Labaki for the film “Capernaum”.  

 

Polish director Pawel Pawlikowsky was awarded “the best director” for the film “Cold War”.

 

Jafar Panahi won “the best screenplay for “Three face” and Alice Rohrwacher for “Happy as Lazzaro”.

 

The Best Short Film Palme d'Or was awarded to Charles Williams for “All these creatures”.

 

Kazakh actress Samal Eslyamova won the best actress ("Ayka"), and the Italian actor Marcello Fonte ("Dogman") the best actor.

 

Famous director Jean-Luc Godard, who participated in the main program, was awarded "For Contribution to Cinematography".
