According to the press service of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the executive secretary of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Honored Art Worker Jamil Guliyev said at the scientific and theoretical conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev held in Nizami Cinema Center.        

The speaker said that the national leader Heydar Aliyev was the most reliable benefactor, guarantor and guardian of film makers in the implementation of Azerbaijani cinematographers` creative work, release of their projects, and in general the development of our national cinema. He had taken a great care of our culture while working both the chairman of the State Security Committee of Azerbaijan and first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan. Sufficient amount of funds was allocated and new equipment was bought for film studio in order to strengthen the technical base of “Azerbaijanfilm” with his care. 

“The Great Leader was always paying great attention to the issue of rejuvenation and renewal of our cinema. He even supported the introduction of new innovations in the Soviet cinematography. He was saying that today modern technology was already outdated in Soviet cinema. He was always speaking about new opportunities and innovations to be applied, along with the shortcomings of filmmaking in his speeches. After returning to power for the second time, the Great Leader mobilized all his efforts to overcome the existing gaps of that field in the current and independent Azerbaijan, and many things were achieved, and our national cinema began to revive. He recommended that scientific and technical achievements had to be brought to the Azerbaijani cinema. The development of the Azerbaijani cinema is connected with the name of the great leader Heydar Aliyev as well.” – J.Guliyev said.   

Cinematographer, Honored Art Worker Aydin Kazimzada spoke about the life and activity of the Great Leader and his role in the history of statehood. Speaking about the genius personality Heydar Aliyev`s services in the development of cinema, revival of our culture, A.Kazimzada said that the Great Leader was trying to develop all the spheres of the life of the country: “Since some films shot at different times in the “Azerbaijanfilm” were inadequate to meet the requirements of the Soviet ideology, they were under threat not to be shown, the national leader Heydar Aliyev came to the rescue of filmmakers, and he always solved the problems positively. Films “Bir Cenub Sheherinde” (“In a Southern City”) and “Istintag” (“Investigation”) can be examples to it. The screening of the drama “Sheherin yay gunleri” (“Summer Days of the City”), revealing the identity of the Hero of the Soviet Union Mehdi Huseynzada, and idea of ​​ shooting a film “Uzag Sahillerde” (“On Distant Shores”) about him belong to the Great Leader. He even allocated an amount twice as much to the film from the national budget in addition to the funds provided by Moscow for the production of the film “Babek”. Our cinematographers also made a number of interesting films about our great leader, and this sacred work is still going on successfully. Today, everybody knows that the 2^nd of August is the Day of Azerbaijani Cinema. This holiday was also blessed to our nation by our National Leader “.   

Then the guests watched the film titled “Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani cinema”, screened based on the symphonic poem of the Honored Art Worker Vasif Allahverdiyev, and the scriptwriter being Nazim Hikmet.
