The Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan

announces a short screenplay contest titled 

Azərbaijani cinema – 120

“YENI NEFES-III” (New Breath)

Purpose:

The contest is held to improve creative activities of young people in the filed of cinematography, reveal young and talented authors, as well as bring new ideas and new breath to our national cinema. The contest also allows young people who work in other areas to create the opportunity to test themselves in cinema and thereby strengthen the existing competition.

Conditions:

        Anyone under 35 years old can submit a screenplay to the contest.

        The contest accepts screenplays in any genre, be it dramatic, documentary and animation.

         

        The rights of the screenplay presented to the contest should belong to the author, not be sold and be in the course of shooting. 

         

        The screenplay should be original, i.e. it should not be screened.

         

        Screenplays for short films should be presented to the contest in three copies, printed and on a CD in a digital carrier, with being no more than 20 pages.

         

        Font Courier New, size 12 required.

         

        Name and surname of the author should not be indicated in the printed screenplays.

        The author should also present his/her biography along with the screenplay.

        Each author cannot submit more than 3 (three) screenplays.

        Screenplays presented to the contest will not be returned.

         

        Screenplays should be sent to the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan by September 25, 2018.



Rules:

The professional jury of the contest is appointed by the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The jury will evaluate four screenplays as a result of a secret ballot.

Winning screenplays will be awarded with prize money and diploma:

        Grand Prix – 2500 manat (It is intended to be screened)

        I place 2000 manat

        II place 1500 manat

        III place 1000 manat

The results of the contest will be announced in October, 2018.
