The history of Azerbaijani cinema is the chronicle of our people
As reported by the press service of the Cinematographers Union of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elnur Imanbejly, the representative of the “Writer’s home” film, spoke before the film presentation about the work carried out by this center of culture. He said that for more than a year, a very important part of the "Writer’s home" was collecting information about the literary and scientific heritage of the outstanding writer and scientist Mir Jalal. To this end, the "Writer’s home", working closely with the National Archives Department, the National Library, tries to collect Mir Jalal’s sound recordings, manuscripts and make them accessible to readers and researchers. In this sense, today's event is very important. Because the film "One Family", the script author of which is Mir Jalal, again appears to the public.
Executive Secretary of the Cinematographers Union of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Honored Art Worker Jamil Guliyev told about the return of the screen work to our country and its restoration. Recalling the idea of national leader Heydar Aliyev, "History of Azerbaijani cinema is the chronicle of our people", expressed at the meeting with filmmakers in the mid-1970s, Jamil Guliyev described the film "One Family" as a screen work that today creates and perpetuates this chronicle. He said: "This year is the 75th anniversary of the film" One Family ". This anniversary coincides with a very significant period. This year we celebrate the 110th anniversary of the outstanding writer, scientist, talented teacher Mir Jalal Pashayev, the 100th anniversary of the great composer Kara Karaev, and the 120th anniversary of the Azerbaijani cinema. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, signed corresponding orders related to this event."
Recalling the thought of the outstanding figure of French cinema Henri Langlois "The fate of films are like the fate of people. Time leaves a mark on every created film. To approach the film, one must look at it through the prism of time," Jamil Guliyev said that such films include "One Family" as well.
He also noted that the film was restored in 2008 on the initiative of academician Nargiz Pashayeva. The screen work, brought from Russia with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, is currently kept in the State Film Fund.
The film was shot in very difficult times, during the Second World War. At that time, Soviet filmmakers Grigory Alexandrov and Alexander Ivanov arrived in Baku. Three films were shot in the Baku film studio: a documentary film "Caspian seamen" and feature films "One Family" and "Submarine T9". Unfortunately, the screening of these films was banned, as they sang of courage and heroism of the Azerbaijani people, and its invaluable services in the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Naturally, it was not liked by those who sat in Moscow and Kremlin. Therefore, these films were banned.
The protagonist of "One Family" is the Azerbaijani people
Stressing that the film is a bold screenplay, Jamil Guliyev said: "There are no slogans in this film. Its main hero is the Azerbaijani people, Azerbaijani self-sacrificing sons. There are very interesting female images in the screen work. They reflect the patriotism, the strength of the Azerbaijani woman. All the dramatic construction of the film, the artistic image was carried out under the guidance of Mir Jalal Pashayev."
It was noted that for the first time in the Azerbaijani cinema symphonic style was used in this film. The unity of music and the image here admire the viewer.
"Art is immortal. The restoration and the release of this film, which is the success of the Azerbaijani cinema, confirm the immortality of art," Jamil Guliyev stressed.
Then the film was screened.
