Opening of Days of Iranian Cinema was held in Baku

Opening Ceremony of Days of Iranian Cinema was held in Nizami Cinema Center.


 
According to the press service of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the film festival was organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Azerbaijan.


 
Participating in the Opening Ceremony, Abulfas Garayev, the Minister of Culture and Tourism said that friendly relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran are developing year by year. The development of relations between the two countries, especially in the field of culture, is remarkable. Reminding that Azerbaijani Days of Culture was held in Iran last year, the Minister said that Azerbaijan owe its succes in the film industry to Iranian film professionals as well: “A number of films we shot together were awarded. We hope that our cooperation in the field of cinema will continue.”     


Abuzar Ibrahimi Turkamani, the Chairman of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed hope that such events would contribute to the development of cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.


Expressing his pleasure about the holding of the Days of Iranian Cinema in Azerbaijan, Javad Jahangirzada, the ambassador of Iran to Azerbaijan stated his confidence that relations between the two countries in the fields of economy, culture and other fields will continue to grow.
 

“Bodyguard” feature film by the director Ebrahim Hatamikia was shown to the audience in the opening ceremony.  
 
İt should be mentioned that feature films “Sweet Taste of Imagination” by Kamal Tabrizi on February 24, “Mad Ball” by Abdulhassan Dawoodi on February 25 and “Where are my shoes?” by Kiumars Poorahmad on February 27, will be shown to the audience within the framework of the Days of Cinema.
